Unique School Solutions are supporting an alternative provision in Rotherham, S66 to appoint a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work supporting children with SEMH needs within in Key Stage 2. The role will be working within the classroom under the direction of the teacher supporting students with behaviour, curriculum and life skills across Key Stage 2.

Students who attend the provision are age ranges 7-16 years with school avoidance and SEMH needs. Previous experience supporting children with these needs is essential.

This role is to start ASAP and is part-time, 9am – 12pm, Monday – Friday, term time only.

Essential requirements for the role:

• Previous experience working within a school or children’s residential environment
• SEMH experience
• The ability to build rapport with young learners
• Strong behaviour management skills
• The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
• The ability to support small groups and on a 1:1 basis
